We are now looking for a new Programmatic Lead to work on one of our latest and most exciting clients, Disney. This is an opportunity to work on a global disruptive brand, a real “people business” and Operations Lead the Programmatic team driving the business into the future.

The Programmatic Lead has the direct responsibility for the operational leadership, management, and output of the PI EMEA Programmatic team of 20+ team members.

The individual will be expected to use their own initiative to manage and coordinate a team of channel specialists delivering campaigns throughout 18+ markets across all programmatic vendors. You will be expected to champion our Programmatic best practice approach to delivering campaigns, multi market strategy coordination and communication. You will be an Operations Leader, creating an environment where all members of the team have an opportunity to fulfil their potential and deliver exceptional work for Disney.

Through your strong relationships with all key stakeholders (suppliers, PI local, PI line of business teams, Disney EMEA clients), you will ensure the creation and maintenance of all required processes and remain responsible for day-to-day strategic excellence across all campaigns throughout EMEA markets and lines of business.

Working closely with the digital strategy directors in lines of business, the candidate will shape and deliver the Programmatic strategy for individual campaigns and the annual direction of the channel to deliver improved client performance and innovation.

The Programmatic Lead reports to the Head of Digital Operations. Two Programmatic account directors lead respective lines of businesses reporting directly to the Programmatic Lead.




Maximise Operational Excellence & Output

  • Lead and advance Programmatic operational excellence to deliver the highest levels of accurate planning, QA, optimisation and reporting
  • Monitor and deploy improvements to staff allocations across lines of business and market clusters to ensure maximum client service and campaign performance
  • Lead channel outputs alongside Account Directors (e.g. annual strategy, QBRs)
  • Maintain and develop best practice guidelines and create additional material enabling the team to deliver excellence from planning through to optimisation
  • Collaborate with the Digital Campaign Project Manager to ensure the team is structured and resourced to deliver timely activation of campaigns
  • Responsible for financial accuracy across POs to facilitate accurate financial billing

Delivering Client Performance & Growth

  • Responsible for building, developing and achieving quarterly channel roadmap (inc. EMEA JBP development) and test & learn plans to deliver innovation and growth across the account; build roadmap alongside social and search lead/account directors
  • In partnerships with line of business digital strategy leads, develop annual line of business strategy to maximise client performance through Programmatic
  • Lead the sharing of learnings and innovations between lines of business to ensure Disney remains consistent in their Programmatic across the entire business
  • Collaborate and ensure synergy with in-house Disney teams where relevant
  • Collaborate with PI Data & Technology team to formulate the latest industry POVs and next steps for senior Disney clients
  • Implement new technology or activation methods in a fast-changing environment (e.g. iOS14, Cookieless world)
  • Inform LOBs and client of channel innovative opportunities as soon as they are in market
  • Ensure all reporting and optimisations are based on, and focused towards, actional insights with clear next steps for campaign improvements / growth

Develop & Inspire The Team

  • Lead the whole Programmatic team with a positive can-do attitude
  • Provide direct support and management to your Programmatic Account Director(s)
  • Create development plans for all direct reports, input and spotlight areas of development for all Programmatic team members
  • Monitor performance and output in collaboration with the Digital Campaign Project Manager, spotlight areas of development for team members (e.g. error rate, timely activation per market)
  • Build, oversee and deploy annual certification training plan across all programmatic vendors to ensure 100% compliance / certification of all programmatic team members
  • Oversee the onboarding process for all new starters to ensure a welcoming and consistent experience
  • Update the team on new initiatives, business performance, new joiners, and relevant industry topics; arrange supportive training sessions alongside existing L&D plan

Deliver Profitability

  • Lead, define and rollout initiative to onboard local programmatic activations into the hub with appropriately structured team and R&Rs to achieve commercial growth
  • Co-develop programmatic SOW with the Head of Digital Operations and ensure Account Directors adopt across all lines of business
  • Identify areas of opportunity for commercial growth and identify potential requirements for additional funding to service the new service or activation type with required resource
  • Develop, pitch, and implement new / innovative ways to develop the Programmatic offering through additional services outside of the existing SOW
  • Collect, monitor, and report on monthly Programmatic investment

Expand The Team’s Profile

  • Surface and share great work from the Programmatic team, collate case studies and share internally and externally
  • Remain the senior go-to person for senior clients and internal lines of business teams
  • Full understanding of Programmatic capabilities, and an ability to talk independently about opportunities in client meetings and with team
  • Enter industry awards spotlighting the team’s great success
  • Strong relationship with teams across PI, the wider agency and vendors at a senior level

We are looking for an ambitious, proactive curious and experienced Programmatic Leader. You will be highly organised, able to work independently on projects where needed but also Lead an entire team of Programmatic specialists across multiple business units.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate experience of leading, managing and developing a team.  Having extensive experience across the Programmatic landscape you will be an expert in Programmatic and the digital ecosystem enabling you to advance your team to deliver the best quality of work and results for your clients. We work at a fast pace and alongside multiple stakeholders, so we’re looking for a positive, can-do attitude from someone joining to lead a channel team.
